Before the hurricane, 8 pm
As I listen to the news on T.V, I start to wonder if what they say would be true. They say that hurricane Sandy is going to hit us directly. I was never good at heeding the news, so I did not get that much information on it. I did not take it seriously and thought nothing bad was going to happen. As I go to my room, the light starts to flicker, wanting to go out. I did not care much of it and had a feeling that the electricity will not go out. Then I felt tired from not sleeping early yesterday and decided to go to bed early.
Second day, 7 am
As I wake up in shock from the powerful wind trying to break in through my window, I hurried to go downstairs thinking that there was a robber trying to break in. As I enter the living room I see everybody there having a conversation with each other. When I saw this I was surprised because it was very obscure to see everybody not in their rooms. "What is going on?" I asked. My older sister told me that the whole town did not have electricity and that there was nothing else to do. My sister was never veracity person so I went to check myself and she was right.
Second day, 1 pm
As I watch my nephews trying to wrestle like in TV, I felt I was dying slowly of insipid. There was nothing entertaining in the house. My phone and laptop are dead, I needed electricity to do what I loved doing. I remorse not heeding to the news yesterday. If I listened to it I would probably have charged my phone and laptop. As I find out what my lesson is, food in the refrigerator was getting ruined. I wondered how long this would occur and I hoped it would not take too long for the electricity to come back. A lot of trees have gone down and created great damages to people's property. Luckily for me a tree landed to the house next to mine.
