A Picture Of 1,000 Words

To tell you the truth I really never thought of this. They say that a picture is worth 1,000 words.  I never thought of thought. I always thought of  a picture as just an image.  From what I see, I believe it is true. There is many things in this picture that can be described in 1,000 words. From what I see, there are soldier risking their lives for the sake of their country. I believe they are in a boat rushing to the front lines. The place there looks open where soldiers can not take cover. In the middle of the picture I think from the shape it is a tank, something that soldiers should worry about. It is very foggy so you can barely see the other side. If I were them I would probably chicken out.

I wonder where the enemy is. I heard that the enemy is on top of the mountains, but we can barely see that. They say that this was a day where a whole lot of lives were lost. I see that the soldiers had to swim to a bit to shore. I would have drowned since I can not swim. The boat looks old, compared to the boats that I see in movies. The boat probably carried an average amount of soldiers. From what I see, what I think is happening is that there is a war from 2 countries. I believe that the soldiers that got out of the boats are the brave ones because they are rushing to the battlefield when you can not see the enemy. I think that soldiers there are afraid but brave enough to fight the enemy.

I believe the ocean is cold, the soldiers would not have liked that. I also think that the ocean's current is somewhat strong from looking at the waves.  I am pretty sure each of those soldiers has a family, a family to protect. That could also be why the soldiers are risking their lives for the sake of the country. I believe they have somewhat of load out on them. They have a backpack with probably a average amount of supplies that could help them in the war. Compared to there, I am pretty sure that it war is harder back then because now I am sure there is a lot of improvement in technology. I am sure that the soldiers had to take this huge radio in order to communicate to base for Intel on the enemy.
I'm also pretty sure that transportation by that time was horrible. I don't think that soldiers         there had great transportation. I think they have been fighting in war by foot. That would be very tiring, especially since the battleground is huge. Now I think transportation is a whole lot better. Another thing they had to worry about were things attached to the ground such as claymores and bouncing Bettys, that would be a painful way to die. Now I think they have a machine to detect all of that. Technology now is helping a lot out there. The only thing to worry about is the way they use it. What I believe is going to happen is that both country is going to fight and kill each other without mercy. I'm pretty sure that a whole lot of soldiers are going to die. In order for them to earn victory in war they need to kill the enemy or you lose the war. I have heard before that in this picture where the mountains are, are where the enemy is camping at. I have heard that on that day it was the bloodiest day they faced compared to other days. I know that there will always be and try to be a "hero" and rush to the battlefield without thinking and die miserably. The one who were smart enough to plan their tactics would most likely to survive. From the mountains I believe the enemy is going to use that advantage and try to kill everybody in the plain field. Since the soldiers has no way to cover then they didn't have anything else to do about it, but to go and fight. I'm pretty sure that if the soldiers in the picture has the technology that we have now, most of the soldiers that died would have survived. The technology now would protect them from the enemy. Imagine in the future how the technology would be for the soldiers. It would be crazy. In order for the enemy to fight back is to act smarter on the use of technology. To me in war everything is managed through technology. Without technology they would all have been lost.

Since there is also fog, it would be a problem for the soldiers. The enemy would use that advantage and kill the soldiers unexpectedly. Actually I don't think it is fog. I think it is smoke caused from many explosions. I'm pretty sure the enemy had grenades and stuff like that. The guns that the soldiers had were  probably horrible that they could have killed them self. At the end of this war i know there would be a hero. There is always someone that would help the soldiers with their tactics that would lead them to victory and safety. Without having a leader of a squad the soldiers would be lost and die quickly. I believe that the soldiers that got out of the boat has earned their victories because of what they are doing, they are rushing to the field knowing that  there is huge risk of dying.

Montreal Quebec

It was around 6:34pm when I enter Montreal Quebec to visit my uncle and cousins. I have to say, it is pretty cold over here, it is 34 degrees. Usually in Quebec the language that is mostly spoken is french. So, I had trouble trying to ask for directions. As I stop on a red light I checked on my map where the restaurant is located to meet my uncle and her wife. The name of the restaurant is Da Vinci Ristorante. He told me that it was a magnificent restaurant with excellent service. Only problem is, that it is very dark. Sunset occurs here around 4:16 pm.

As I kept reading the map, cars behind started honking. I wondered why and when I looked ahead I noticed that the light turned green. "Oops!" I yelled and accelerated. As I accelerated, I had no idea where I was going. I kept driving and driving and felt like I was driving in circles for some reason. Then I noticed  the same street light from earlier. "Wow" I told myself. I was lost. As the light turned red, I noticed a young women around her 20s and I decided to ask her for directions. I rolled down the window and yelled, "Bonjour!".(Bonjour was the only word I knew in french). She looked at me with a smile and said "hi, how may I help you." I guess she knew I was not from around here and figured out how horrible my french was. I was surprised she talked to me in English too.

I said, "yes, do u know where Da Vinci Ristorante is?". She replied, " why yes I do. I would give you the directions, but I doubt you will make it. If you would like I will go with you and show you the way." I was happy when I heard that, I thought I was not going to go to the restaurant in time. People in Montreal are very nice. As she entered the car she told me that her name was Myriam. When I greeted her she gave the first direction of to where to go. She told me to make a right and then to make a left. After I have done that she showed me where the restaurant was. I told her, "is this the restaurant? It was this close?" She started laughing and said, "yes it is". In my head I said, " no wonder she came along. It was not far from where I met her." As I thanked her I saw my uncle. He came up to me and said, "what took you so long?". I replied, " you do not want to know".

Hurrican Sandy

Before the hurricane, 8 pm

As I listen to the news on T.V, I start to wonder if what they say would be true. They say that hurricane Sandy is going to hit us directly. I was never good at heeding the news, so I did not get that much information on it. I did not take it seriously and thought nothing bad was going to happen. As I go to my room, the light starts to flicker, wanting to go out. I did not care much of it and had a feeling that the electricity will not go out. Then I felt tired from not sleeping early yesterday and decided to go to bed early.

Second day, 7 am

As I wake up in shock from the powerful wind trying to break in through my window, I hurried to go downstairs thinking that there was a robber trying to break in. As I enter the living room I see everybody there having a conversation with each other. When I saw this I was surprised because it was very obscure to see everybody not in their rooms. "What is going on?" I asked. My older sister told me that the whole town did not have electricity and that there was nothing else to do. My sister was never veracity person so I went to check myself and she was right.

Second day, 1 pm

As I watch my nephews trying to wrestle like in TV, I felt I was dying slowly of insipid. There was nothing entertaining in the house. My phone and laptop are dead, I needed electricity to do what I loved doing. I remorse not heeding to the news yesterday. If I listened to it I would probably have charged my phone and laptop. As I find out what my lesson is, food in the refrigerator was getting ruined. I wondered how long this would occur and I hoped it would not take too long for the electricity to come back. A lot of trees have gone down and created great damages to people's property. Luckily for me a tree landed to the house next to mine.
